So, word is that the annual bonfire in Myrtle Park is no more due to a low turn out last year. Bad times! But never fear, there are plenty of other events going on to keep you entertained. Here is a list of ones I have been able to find out about. Please leave a comment if you know of any more.
1. Mercure Bradford, The Bankfield Hotel.
Thursday 5th November. Gates open at 6, bonfire lit at 7, firework display at 7.30 – tickets on sale now – limited pre-purchase tickets @ £3 or £5 on the night (u3’s free) – car parking not included in ticket price however limited spaces available and we just ask for a donation of £1 for breast cancer care to park. Refreshments available to purchase plus live music from local band Hot Air. Pop into hotel reception 08:30-22:30 or call 01274 567123 (small charge added for tickets to be sent out by post).
2. Eldwick Bonfire – Eldwick Recreation Ground
This popular family event will be held on Saturday 7th November. The gates will be open at 6.30pm. The fire will be lit just after 7 and the fireworks at 7.30pm approximately. As usual it will be held on Eldwick Recreation Ground. Please remember that this is a football field, so please do not bring your own fireworks especially sparklers. There will be a children’s entertainer throughout the event who will be also entertaining the children in the Memorial Hall after the fireworks. There will be the usual “burnt bangers” on sale and refreshments will be available in Birches. The programme/tickets are £4 for adults and £1 for accompanied children. Programmes/tickets will be on sale, before the event at Eldwick Post Office and Birches.
Riddlesden – November 6 – Bonfire night at St Mary’s School, Riddlesden: Gates open at 6pm, with low noise fireworks for toddlers at 6.30pm and the main fireworks at 7.10pm. There will also be food and drink for sale as well as a variety of stalls. Entry is £3 per person, with under 4s going free.
November 7 – Bonfire night at The Old Glen House, Prod Lane, Baildon: The night starts at 6pm, with the bonfire being lit at 7pm. There will be two outside bars as well as the main bar, and homemade stew and pie and peas will be available, and there will be a stall selling toffee apples and sweets. Free entry.
November 7 – Annual Firework Display and Bonfire at Baildon RUFC. Gates open at 6.30pm, bonfire lit at 7pm and firework display starts at 7.30pm. Pie and peas, barbecue and fully stocked bar. Admission is £5 for adults with up to three accompanied children free.
November 7 –Bonfire night at The 3 Acres, Bingley Road, Keighley: Ticket only event, tickets are available from the bar. Adults tickets cost £5, under 10s £2.50 and under 3s go free. The night kicks off at 6pm.
6. The Glen Gilstead
5th November. FREE ENTRY. Firework display from 6:30PM plus BBQ PLUS the outside bar will be open.
